Shahbazin Rare Breed Poultry

Since 1977

Keeping and raising poultry has been a hobby of mine since I was very young; I have worked with many breeds over the years, including Shamos, Asils, and Old English Games, and have spent many years breeding large birchen and silver blue Modern Games.  I still have a small laying flock of some fowls of Silkie, frizzled Cochin, and Easter Egg (non-Standard Ameraucana) heritage; I am in the process of standardizing these into a true-breeding type, the California Daisy. All of my birds are hatched under hens, and most are naturally brooded. Hardiness, foraging ability, disease resistance, and sound conformation have always been my priorities. Due to personal reasons, my Modern flock was dispersed in May of 2006 - see link on breed page to contact the buyers of the main flock.
Here are some of my 2005 large Moderns.
