Are you aware that, for your Anatolian to live up to his/her potential as an
outstanding guardian/companion, there will need to be a substantial investment
of time and effort on your part, particularly during the first year to 18
months, training, socializing, and teaching your dog what is expected of
him/her? If you have never learned how to obedience train and socialize a dog,
are you willing to locate a trainer to assist you with your new puppy? Are you
committed to caring for this dog for its expected lifetime of 12 -14 years?
|
Please list two character references who may be contacted (a friend, person
you have purchased a dog from in the past, or veterinarian would be suitable).
|
| If interested in a breeding potential dog, are you committed to maintaining
the health of the breed as a whole, to breed with the goal of producing balanced
dogs that are physically and mentally sound, to preserve the working instincts
of the Anatolian without exaggeration of type, size, aggressiveness or any other
physical or mental attribute for any purpose? To breed only from those
Anatolians whose hips have been radiographed after 24 months of age and
certified clear of hip dysplasia by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA)
or Genetic Disease Control registry (GDC), and who have also been tested for
normal thyroid function (including thyroid antibody levels)? Are you ready to
keep puppies until appropriate homes have been found, to offer owner support and
advice, to guarantee replacement or reimbursement to the new owner if you
produce a dog that develops any serious inherited defect, and to take back
misplaced dogs? Please explain briefly why you are interested in breeding
Anatolian Shepherds.
|
| Please use the backs of these pages to add any further information that you
wish us to consider in placing one of our Anatolian Shepherds with you. We would
appreciate if you would give us a little insight into the expectations you may
have for this new addition to your family. Thank you again - your interest is
deeply appreciated.
